Heading South
Published on

At six in the morning the van was at the door and we still had no idea where exactly we were going. That was probably the best part of the morning.
Two backpacks, a crate of kitchen, Diana’s camera and a coffee for the road — that was about the whole plan. Only the direction was certain: south, towards the sun, for as long as it stays warm.
We have no plan, and so far it is working.
What came along
Two folding chairs that never match
A guitar neither of us really plays
Far too many books
A canister of water and good coffee
By midday the city was behind us. From here on the only thing that matters is where we park for the night — and whether it faces west.
